The short version
- Ionyx is a platform. It is not a doctor, a clinic or a hospital.
- Ion gives guidance. It does not give a diagnosis. Only a provider can diagnose or treat you.
- Ionyx is not for emergencies. In an emergency call 919 or 911.
- You must be 18 or over. Children use Ionyx through a parent or guardian's account.
- The providers you book are independent. They are responsible for the care they give you.
- Tell the truth in your checks and keep your password safe.
- Today you pay your provider directly. Our payment rules apply once payments go through Ionyx.
- The laws of The Bahamas apply to these terms.
1. Who we are
Ionyx is run by Ionyx AI of P.O. Box N-10899, Nassau, The Bahamas. In these terms "Ionyx", "we" and "us" mean that company. "You" means the person using Ionyx.
These terms are an agreement between you and us. They apply when you use ionyxai.com or any Ionyx app.
Some parts of Ionyx have their own short agreements. You see them at the time you need them. They are:
- Not for emergencies: what Ion is and isn't
- Video visits
- AI note helper
- Family, helpers and children
- Payments, cancellations and refunds
- Sick notes and document checks
- Storing your information outside The Bahamas
- Using de-identified information to improve Ionyx (optional)
Our privacy notice explains how we handle your information. Please read it too.
These terms start on 28 October 2026. This is version 2026-10-28.
2. What Ionyx is and isn't
What Ionyx is
Ionyx is an online platform. It helps you:
- do a health check with Ion
- keep a health profile for you and the people you care for
- find and book independent health providers
- have video visits and send messages to your provider
- get documents from your provider, such as visit summaries and sick notes
- make a medical ID card
What Ionyx isn't
Ionyx is not a doctor, a clinic or a hospital. We do not give medical care. The providers on Ionyx are not our employees. Each one is a licensed professional who works for themselves or for their own practice.
Using Ionyx does not make Ionyx your doctor. Your care relationship is with the provider you book.
What Ion is
Ion is our health check. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to ask you questions. It then suggests what kind of care you may need and how soon.
Ion gives guidance. It does not give a diagnosis and it does not treat you. Ion can be wrong. If you feel worse or you are worried, get care, even if Ion said you could look after yourself at home.
3. Not for emergencies
Ionyx is not an emergency service. If you think you or someone else may be in danger:
- call 919 or 911
- or go to the nearest emergency department
Do not wait for Ion, a message or a video visit.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself, call 919 or 911. You can also call the Bahamas Crisis Centre on 242-328-0922.
On a Family Island, call 919 and then your local clinic.
No one watches Ionyx messages all the time. Never use a message to ask for urgent help.
4. Who can use Ionyx
- You must be 18 or over to make an account and to use Ionyx for yourself.
- Children under 18 cannot have their own account. A parent or legal guardian can add a child to their own account and use Ionyx for them.
- You can use Ionyx for another adult only if they agree or you have the legal right to act for them. See Family, helpers and children.
- You can do a check without an account. These terms still apply to you.
- Ionyx is made for people in The Bahamas. You must be in The Bahamas during a video visit.
5. Your account and keeping it safe
- Give your real name, date of birth and contact details.
- Do not make an account for someone else. Do not pretend to be someone else.
- Keep your password secret. Do not share your account.
- Tell us at once at techsupport@ionyxai.com if you think someone else has used your account.
"Keep me signed in on this device"
When you sign in you can tick "Keep me signed in on this device". If you tick it, you stay signed in on that device for up to 30 days after you last use Ionyx. Anyone who picks up that device can then open your account.
Only tick it on a device that is yours and that has a screen lock. Do not tick it on a shared or public computer. If you do not tick it, you are signed out when you close your browser.
Signing in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google's own terms also apply to that sign-in.
6. Be truthful
Ion and your provider rely on what you tell them. Wrong or missing answers can lead to wrong advice.
- Answer as fully and honestly as you can.
- Keep your medicines and allergies up to date.
- If you answer for someone else, only share what they are happy for you to share.
- Tell your provider if anything in your report is wrong.
7. Checks and reports
A check asks you questions about how you feel. At the end Ion suggests a care level and writes a report. There is a version for you and a version for a provider.
- Some answers always raise the care level. Ion follows safety rules that it cannot override.
- Read your report. You can correct your answers until a provider opens your check.
- You decide who sees your report. You share it when you book a provider. You can also show a provider its QR code or report code.
- When a provider opens your report from a QR code or code, it is recorded and we tell you.
- We may ask how you are a day or two after a check. If you say you feel worse, we show you urgent advice. We may also tell your provider.
Checks that no provider has looked at are deleted after 90 days, unless they are part of your care. A report a provider has used becomes part of your medical record. See our privacy notice.
8. Finding and booking a provider
Providers are independent
Each provider is responsible for the care they give you. We check that a provider has a current licence before you can book them. We do not watch their visits and we cannot promise the result of any care.
Booking
- You need an account to book.
- If Ion says you need emergency care, you cannot book. Please get emergency care.
- If Ion says you should be seen today, we show providers who can see you soon. If you choose a later day, we ask you to confirm you understand the risk.
- Some providers confirm a booking at once. Others accept or decline a request. We show you how long they have to answer. If they do not answer in time, the request ends and we show you other options.
- You can have up to 3 upcoming visits at a time.
What a provider sees
When you book, you agree to share your check report with that provider. Before they accept, they see a short brief. It has your first name and last initial, your age, what is wrong, warning signs, your medicines and allergies. It also has Ion's possible causes. After they accept, they see your full report, your full name and your phone number.
Changing or cancelling
You can change or cancel a visit in Visits until 2 hours before it starts. Once payments go through Ionyx, the payment rules decide what you pay if you change or cancel late.
Ratings
After a visit that really happened, you can rate it within 30 days. Star ratings show to the public once a provider has 10 of them. Your written comments go only to the provider. Be fair and honest.
9. Video visits
A video visit is a real medical visit with a licensed provider over a secure video call. Before your first one, we ask you to agree to the video visits rules. In short:
- Video is offered only when your check suggests it is safe to be seen by video.
- You must be in The Bahamas during the visit.
- Under 18: a parent or guardian must be on camera for the whole visit.
- We never record the video. Sound is recorded only if everyone agrees to the AI note helper.
- Your provider may ask you to come in or to go to urgent care or an emergency department.
10. Messages
- Once you book, you and your provider can send messages. You can write until 14 days after the visit. Your provider can open it again for longer.
- Messages are not for emergencies. Your provider may not see a message for hours or days.
- Messages cannot be changed or deleted. They become part of your record.
- Photos you send lose their location details.
- If you write words that may mean an emergency, we ask you to check whether you need urgent help.
"Ionyx Support" is a chat with the Ionyx team. It is for help with Ionyx. It is not for medical advice.
11. Documents and verification codes
Your provider may give you documents, such as:
- a visit summary (the notes your provider shares with you)
- a sick note for work or school
- a referral to another provider or for a test
Your provider writes and is responsible for these documents. If your provider used the AI note helper, the notes say "Drafted with AI, checked by" your provider.
Some documents carry a verification code and a QR code. Anyone with the code can check the document is real at ionyxai.com/symptom-checker/verify/. Only share the code with people who need to check it. A document your provider has withdrawn shows as withdrawn.
By default a sick note does not show your diagnosis. See Sick notes and document checks.
Never change, copy or fake an Ionyx document. Doing so may be a crime. We will close your account.
12. Medical ID card
You can make a medical ID card for you or a person you care for. You choose what it shows. If you turn on scanning, anyone with the card can see what you chose without signing in. Before you turn it on, we ask you to read and agree to how it works.
13. Payments to providers
- Each provider sets their own fee. You see it before you book.
- Today you pay your provider directly. Ionyx does not take your payment. Questions about a fee or a refund go to your provider.
- Once payments go through Ionyx, you will pay when you book. Our Payments, cancellations and refunds rules will then apply. We will ask you to agree to them first.
- Some providers accept insurance. Check with the provider and your insurer.
- Any fee Ionyx itself charges you will be shown before you pay. You will be asked to agree to it.
14. Using Ionyx fairly
You must not:
- use Ionyx to harm, threaten or harass anyone
- give false information on purpose or use someone else's details without the right
- try to see information that is not yours
- guess codes, test our security or overload our systems
- copy Ionyx, scrape it or use automated tools on it
- post false ratings or rate a visit that did not happen
- use Ionyx for anything against the law
15. Our content and yours
Ionyx, Ion, our name, logo and our wording belong to us. You may use them only to use Ionyx for yourself and the people you care for.
What you write and upload stays yours. You let us use it to run Ionyx as our privacy notice explains.
16. Changes to Ionyx and these terms
- We may improve, change or stop parts of Ionyx. Some features start with a small group of testers first.
- If we make an important change to these terms, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies. We then ask you to agree again before you keep using Ionyx.
- For small changes, such as fixing wording, we update the date at the top.
- If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using Ionyx and delete your account.
17. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time on the Delete account page.
- Your account and the information we do not need to keep are removed.
- Reports a provider has used, visit notes and messages are medical records. We must keep them for the time the law requires. They are hidden from your account.
- Our privacy notice explains what we keep and for how long.
We may pause or close your account if you break these terms, if it is needed to keep people safe or if the law requires it. We will tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
18. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
Within what the law allows:
- Providers are responsible for their own clinical advice and treatment. We are not responsible for a provider's clinical decisions.
- We take care to make Ion safe. Ion is guidance only. We are not responsible for loss caused by relying on Ion instead of getting care.
- Ionyx may sometimes be unavailable, for example when our AI service is down. We will try to fix problems quickly. We are not responsible for loss caused by a short outage.
- Our total responsibility to you for anything else is limited to the greater of B$500 and the amount you paid through Ionyx in the 12 months before the claim.
These terms do not take away any rights you have by law.
19. Disputes and Bahamian law
- The laws of The Bahamas apply to these terms.
- If you have a problem, please contact us first. We will try to sort it out within 10 days.
- If we cannot agree, the courts of The Bahamas decide.
- A complaint about a provider's care can go to the provider. It can also go to the body that licenses them, such as the Medical Council, the Nursing Council or the Health Professions Council of The Bahamas.
- A complaint about how we use your information can go to the Data Protection Commissioner. See our privacy notice.
